Welcome to Nyota Business Traders SACCO

Nyota Business Traders SACCO comprises of spirited founders with strong zeal to extend financial support to the optimistic individuals with enterprising ideas to change their life. With our strong credit assessment team, we resort such an enterprising idea into an iterative process of checks and control before extending our noncash loans to such individuals. Our goal is to impact 7 million youth not only in our area of location but also suburb districts around Kampala.

Growing our membership base

Nyota sacco started way back in 2020 following the 18th and 19th November riots that left many youths imprisoned and over 50 youths dead, the founder Mr Kakande Tony lost two co-workers and friends in the same riot, Kakande established that the reason why most youths engage in riots is because they are idle and unemployed, This notion led to the birth of Nabugabo Spare Parts SACCO with the mission of helping the youths out of the streets, by starting for them small business around Nakasero, Nabugabo, Kafumbe Mukasa, Kiseka and Kisenyi. In our daily operations we realized that there were so many youths who were joining the streets daily, talking to them, 80% of them were from Northern and Eastern Uganda mostly Busoga region. In our fight to keep them in their respective places, we decided to start up projects for them their. This made us to change the name to Nyota SACCO as people looked at Nabugabo spare parts SACCO as being only a community based SACCO in Nabugabo and particularly only to those in spare parts business. Currently having a membership base of over 7500 individuals in 8 districts of Busoga Region and 1500 plus individuals in Kampala, totaling to an estimate of 9000. “NYOTA” is a Kiswahili nomenclature meaning more ranks.

We give our members ranks through lending them money to boost their businesses and by starting businesses for those we have gotten off the streets and mentored, thereby making their lives better away from the unemployment status. NYOTA has more than 380 groups in 12 districts of eastern region, particularly Busoga, which groups are structured at a district level, parish level and village level.

Among the 12 districts covered are: Buikwe, Jinja, Kamuli, Kaliro, Mayuge, Luuka, Buyende, Kalangala, Bugiri, Iganga, Namayingo and Namutumba.
